During winters, skin dryness and problems resulting from dry skin are quite common among women as well as men.
Thus, you need to take special care to maintain healthy skin during winter months. Just applying any moisturiser and taking hot water bath will not be sufficient. It is equally important to have right type of diet and use appropriate skin care products that suit your skin type.
Tip No.1 – Use Right Kind of Body Lotion:
During winters, the atmospheric air is absolutely dry. Repeated exposure to dry air is not good for skin as it literally suck out moisture from the skin. Thus it is strongly recommended to use a good body lotion/moisturiser, not just on face, but also on the whole body. It acts as a protective shield for your skin against dry air and helps in retaining moisture. There are many different body lotions available in the market. So it is important that you choose the right one which suits your skin type. If your skin is dry, use a body lotion that contains milk and glycerin.
Tip No. 2 – Don’t use ‘Extremely’ Hot Water for Bathing:
As soon as winter starts, people start using hot water for bath. While taking bath during early morning time, most of us prefer very hot water just to avoid feeling cold. However, it is to be noted that extremely hot water creates dryness in the skin. Thus it is advisable to use lukewarm water. While bathing, one should also avoid using soaps that have strong chemicals. It creates further problems for the skin. Applying face scrubs is also a big NO during winter season. If you have very oily skin, you may use it once or maximum twice a week.
Tip No. 3 – Use Eggs as Face Mask:
Eggs can be used as a good face mask as it contains both, protein and fat. It helps in keeping the moisture and glow in the skin intact. You can even use Eggs along with honey as a facemask.
